2024 Computational Design Symposium and the Annual Conference of Computational Design Academic Committee of Chinese Architectural Society

In the past decade, artificial intelligence (AI) has taken another leap forward, with advances in computational power, the availability and widespread use of big data further deepening this trend. The point at which AI approaches or even surpasses human capabilities seems increasingly imminent. This trend is posing new challenges to the traditional disciplines of architecture, planning, and design. As AI large models demonstrate dominance and creativity in complex tasks, it is an urgent issue for architects to redefine computational design in the intelligent era and to attempt to use intelligent tools to integrate or disrupt established paradigms.

Whether it’s the embodied intelligence of buildings, the inferential intelligence of urban planning, the perceptive intelligence of urban design, the biological intelligence of landscape gardening, or the emotional intelligence in the field of art, it’s essential to speculate on new development models for each discipline under the empowerment of computational design. The explosive development of intelligent technologies urges us to re-examine the future of computational design. We hope to use the 2024 Computational Design Symposium of Computational Design Academic Committee of Chinese Architectural Society as a platform to encourage active exploration of new connotations and possibilities in computational design within the larger realms of human habitation and design, and to collectively push forward the future development of the design field.

（1）摘要应客观、清晰、简明地说明研究背景、目的、方法、结果及结论，约500-600 字，包含2张论文核心图表，并注明作者姓名和单位。会议欢迎中文或英文投稿，会分别结集出版。

（2）发送摘要的邮件命名方式：CDAC摘要+所属议题+姓名+论文题目。

（3）摘要提交截止日期：2024年3月31日24点前（周日）。

摘要应在文件名中标明投稿内容所属的版块，即“计算设计与智能建造”、“计算性城市设计”、“计算性城市科学”、“计算性景观”、“计算性媒体与艺术”五选一。所有提交的摘要，将经评委初审。初审通过者将在2024年5月15日前收到论文摘要录用的邮件通知和会议论文模板。

（1）Abstracts should objectively, clearly, and concisely explain the research background, purpose, methods, results, and conclusions, with approximately 500-600 words, including 2 core figures or tables from the paper, and indicating the author’s name and affiliation. The conference welcomes submissions in Chinese or English, which will be published in separate proceedings.

（2）The email for submitting abstracts should be named as follows: CDAC Abstract + Thematic Session + Name + Paper Title.

（3）Abstract submission deadline: Before midnight (24:00) on March 31, 2024 (Sunday).

Abstracts should indicate in the file name the thematic session to which the submission belongs, choosing one from the following options: “Computational Design and Intelligent Construction”, “Computational Urban Design”, “Computational Urban Science”, “Computational Landscape”, or “Computational Media and Art”. All submitted abstracts will undergo a preliminary review by the committee. Those who pass the initial review will receive notification of abstract acceptance and the conference paper template by May 15, 2024.

（1）所投稿件须为原创，并未曾在其他刊物和会议上发表过。

（2）请按会议组委会提供的会议论文模板格式要求提交论文全文。

（3）论文全文为4500-6500字，插图（图片分辨率不低于300dpi）最多不超过15张。

（4）全文提交截止日期：2024年8月15日24点前（周一）。

提交的论文将经同行评审，并于2024年9月15日向作者发送论文录用的邮件通知。优秀论文经遴选后会在《建筑学报》、《Architectural Intelligence》等期刊上以特刊形式发表。

（1）Submissions must be original and must not have been previously published in any other journals or conferences. 

（2）Full papers must be submitted according to the formatting requirements provided by the conference organizing committee’s paper template.

（3）The full paper should be between 4,500 and 6,500 words, with a maximum of 15 illustrations (images must have a resolution of no less than 300 dpi).

（4）Full paper submission deadline: Before midnight (24:00) on August 15, 2024 (Monday).

Submitted papers will undergo peer review, and authors will be notified of paper acceptance via email by September 15, 2024. Selected outstanding papers may be published in special issues of journals such as “Architectural Journal” or “Architectural Intelligence” after a further selection process.
